For over 22 years, the Douglas J Aveda Institute has been committed to providing a well-rounded education to aspiring professionals entering the Salon/Spa Industry.

Douglas J has developed its niche by creating a learning environment that emulates a true salon setting. The student body services over 300 guests per day, so an education at Douglas J means hands-on learning. You will actually work with the guests as if you were already a professional in the Salon/Spa Industry.

Not only does this diverse guest interaction enhance the technical skills of the student, they also learn the confidence, self-esteem and professionalism that are vital for success. Douglas J’s unique learning atmosphere encourages personal and professional growth, creativity, and a sense of teamwork, making an education at Douglas J the foundation for a bright and successful career.

The Douglas J Suites are located inside of the Club at Chandler Crossings and offer private suites exclusively for Douglas J students. Each suite features four bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom. Chandler Crossings is located at 3850 East Coleman Road, two and a half miles from the Douglas J Aveda Institute in East Lansing.
